Compact lightweight super-telephoto
This high-performance lens was designed with portability and ease of handling in mind. The EF 400mm f/5.6L USM features a UD (ultra dispersive) element and one super-UD element, whose characteristics are similar to fluorite. This combination results in sharp pictures from corner-to corner. The lens also has a built-in hood and a detachable tripod mount.Ultrasonic focusing
A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives autofocus extremely quickly, and in near silence. Excellent holding torque ensures the point of focus is reached accurately, without overshooting. Furthermore, full-time manual override is available, making it possible to adjust focus without leaving AF mode.L-series quality
